3 weeks can kill a business

Restaurants have tons of fixed costs: rent, labor, loan repayments, insurance, supplies, repairs – the list goes on. Even successful restaurants have razor thin margins of 3-5%, and a third have struggled to pay employees at least once. The COVID-19 social distancing keeping customers at home could tip the balance into bankruptcy.

Get Local Food came together when Keith Hoelzeman and I were talking about what would happen to our favorite lunch spots in downtown Little Rock in light of this unprecedented craziness.

We figured the best way to help our restaurant friends was to buy a gift certificate and not use it for 45-60 days.

If you know anyone who has been in the food biz, you know that people and food costs are the biggest expenses and right now we need to help them with the people costs BIG TIME. Let's keep Little Rock's food scene vibrant through this speedbump.
